SSM stands for Shima Skate Manufacturing. SSM is owned by Brian Shima. The brand was founded after Shima parted ways with Jon Elliot and Jan Welch. SSM recives financial support from a non skating related investor. This lead to critizism among the skating community. The label skater-owned probaly doesn't fit as good as it used to fit. The SSM skate itself is no different from all former Nimh Skates. Time will tell how the company develops.
